The first time I went to Arhaus was fantastic. I went with my cousin, and we spent time walking around with awe at all of the gorgeous furniture. We weren't intending to buy anything. The workers understood this and were very pleasant, engaging us in a bit of conversation about the pieces. We had a positive experience, so I decided to bring my husband, friend and his girlfriend (who has an eye for interior design) to browse as well. My husband and I are looking to replace furniture in our home and purchase some more in the next few years. Here is the reason for my one star review: when we came in the door we were greeted warmly. However, as we started browsing, we noticed one of the women who worked there glaring at us, not asking if we needed anything or if we wanted more information, just glaring. She followed us around the store, and even followed us up the stairs, as if we wouldn't notice. My husband and friend are black. I am white, and my original experience was while I was with my cousin, also white. No friendly conversation was made, no reason was given for her following us. It was a very uncomfortable situation, and more so for my husband and friend. I was embarrassed for suggesting to browse there because of our experience. I hope that not every Arhaus is this way but we will be taking our business elsewhere. My message to this store: if you are going to follow black individuals around the store at least TRY to act like you are helping.
The delivery service is utterly clueless. Scheduled delivery 10 days in advance. Scheduled a Saturday delivery because of work schedule. They called back and verified twice. The morning of the delivery they called to tell me the truck was too full and they couldn't put my order on. They couldn't explain why I was the one left out. I had been waiting on the custom order for 2 1/2 months, gotten rid of the old furniture and had empty rooms in my house. They then promised to do a few deliveries and have the driver come back to pick up my order. That's the last I heard and they never showed the rest of the day.
OMG. This is a really really cool place to look at stuff and get ideas. Love their furniture..... But....... Don't buy anything here. Worst service. HORRIBLE delivery people. The so-called white glove folks don't actually know how to set anything up. Put our furniture together wrong. They are not actually ARHAUS employees and were the worst delivery team I've ever seen. Horrible attitude and mis-information from the ARHAUS customer service. Don't bother to call them you'll be even more mad when you hang up. Look closely at the reviews of ARHAUS. All the 5-star reviews are from people who like to LOOK here. All the 1-star reviews are from actual customers who had a terrible experience. I suspect they somehow erase all the google reviews every couple weeks so all the 1-stars don't pile up. A month ago there were around 8 reviews for this site. Do yourself a favor and BUY ELSEWHERE.
Very nice store with lots of different décor ideas. Staff is helpful, some might "follow" you, but that's part of the salesman strategy to some. On our last visit one of the employees mentioned the old delivery service had problems and they were now using a new delivery service. I'm white and my wife's Hispanic for full disclosure to all those who walk around all day long thinking about racism.
Totally soured my you entire experience with Arhaus because they have such an inept delivery vendor.
She is telling the truth about racism and we wouldn't have to think that way if it was not true. But Arhaus isn't the only store that follows black people around. Maybe if your wife went in by herself but she is of a lighter complexion and in society the lighter the skin the belief is the more money you have at these stores. But the people there most are not pleasant and some are very blunt but you also have good associates there. The S&H is outrages. I should't be penalized $139 because you decide to put your storage unit in OH. Maybe paint your face black and experience the ride.
